Tyson Fury vs Oleksandr Usyk Off as Negotiation Breaks Down

Tyson Fury vs Oleksandr Usyk

Tyson Fury’s next fight vs Oleksandr Usyk for the undisputed heavyweight title is off.

The bout was scheduled to take place on April 29 at Wembley Stadium in London, but it won’t take place now as negotiations between both parties break down at the last moment.

Mike Coppinger of ESPN reported that Fury and Usyk have agreed on the 70-30 split, but they couldn’t come on the same page regarding the other crucial aspects of the deal.

Oleksandr Usyk wants Tyson Fury to donate $1 million to Ukraine relief efforts instantly after the fight. He also added that for every day of his delay, Fury will pay 1% of his purse to the Ukraine people.

Tyson Fury announced his retirement from professional boxing after he defeated Dillian Whyte. However, he returned just after four months. He currently holds the WBC heavyweight title whereas Usyk holds WBO, IBF, and WBA heavyweight titles.

Now, it’s not like the fight is canceled, but since the negotiations break down, Oleksandr Usyk might face the mandatory challenger Daniel Dubois first before he squares off against Fury inside the ring.
