Sasha Banks Returns to SmackDown, Turns Heel on Bianca Belair
Sasha Banks returned to WWE SmackDown this week.
“The Boss” has been away from WWE since the post-WrestleMania episode of SmackDown. Banks lost the SmackDown Women’s Title to Bianca Belair in the main event of WrestleMania night 1.
It has been long rumoured that WWE wants to book a rematch between Banks and Belair for Summerslam. Sasha’s return was also talked about for the same match. Those rumours turned true on the 30 July episode of SmackDown.
Bianca was interview by Kayla Braxton in the ring. Carmella, and later Zelina Vega, interrupted the segment and attacked the SmackDown Women’s Champion. Sasha Banks ran out to a cheer from the crowd and saved Bianca from the assault. She also hugged Bianca in a moment that caught EST by surprise.
WWE announced that Sasha and Bianca would team up to face Carmella and Zelina Vega in the main event match of SmackDown. Sasha finished the match by putting Carmella in the Bank Statement.
After the match, both Sasha and Bianca were celebrating their win in the ring. Just then, Sasha pulled off another surprise of the night as she attacked Bianca to turn heel. Sasha followed the attack by putting a Bank statement and did not let go even after Bianca was tapping out.
Sasha vs Bianca is expected to be added to SummerSlam 2021 match card. The event will air on 21 August 2021 from Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, NV.
