Buddy Mathews, aka Buddy Murphy in WWE, will make his NJPW debut at the upcoming Battle in the Valley 2021 PPV.

Buddy Mathews is out of the ring ever since he was released by WWE back in June this year. There has been reports of him talking with IMPACT Wrestling and he even had some interest from AEW. But it looks like he will first go to NJPW.

During the latest episode of NJPW Strong, a vignette aired featuring Mathews. In the video, Mathews says,

“They say as one door closes, another one opens. As much as things change, they stay they same. I am not saying that I have done bad things in someone else’s vision, believing it was for greater good. But may be there is no place in this world for me. May be I am done. May I should leave. May be it’s time to close this chapter in my life. Or may be it’s staring at me all this whole time.”

After this, Mathews stabs at the poster of Battle in the Valley, and the date November 13, 2021, flashed on the screen.

The Greater Good reference in Mathew’s promo might be for Seth Rollins. Mathews worked as his disciple with Rollins for the better part of 2020 while Rollins was in Monday Night Messiah Gimmick and claimed to be acting towards the Greater Good for pro-wrestling.

No match is announced for the Battle in the Valley event yet, but David Finlay, Fred Rosser, Hikuleo, Jay White, Juice Robinson, Lio Rush, Tom Lawlor, and Tomohiro Ishii are announced for the event.

Keep tuned in for more news and updates from NJPW.
