Oleksandr Usyk holds a trio of World Heavyweight Championships from IBF, WBA(Super) and WBO, along with The Ring Magazine title. He was looking to fight Tyson Fury, who holds WBC title, for undisputed world title fight. Long negotiations took place with Fury’s team but both sides did not come to an agreement.

WBA then ordered Usyk to face WBA(Regular) Heavyweight Champion and mandatory challenger Daniel Dubois. Usyk’s manager and promoter Alex Krassyuk’s K2 Promotion won the purse bid for the fight with a bid of $8,057,00. Krassyuk expressed after that they are looking to hold the fight in Poland. This ended up being the case when the fight was announced to take place in Wroclaw, Poland.

Usyk’s Recent Fights

After becoming an undisputed champion in the cruiserweight division and defending the title once, Usyk moved up to the heavyweight division. He was assigned as the WBO mandatory challenger when he moved to the division. He defeated Chaz Witherspoon in his heavyweight bout in October 2019. He went on to beat Derek Chisora via unanimous decision in October 2020. He then challenged Anthony Joshua for his 3 heavyweight titles and got a one-sided decision win over him in September 2021. After being unbeaten in his first 15 fights, Daniel Dubois lost to Joy Joyce in his 16th fight in November 2020. He bounced back to beat Bogdan Dinu in June 2021 before a win over Joe Cusumano. Dubois then defeated Trevor Bryan to win WBA Regular Heavyweight title. He retained it against Kevin Lerena on the undercard of Tyson Fury vs Derek Chisora 3 PPV.
