WWE Women Tag Team Title Match SmackDown 5 June 2020

Check out the preview and matches announced for WWE Friday Night SmackDown episode of 5 June 2020(6/5/2020).

Alexa Bliss & Nikki Cross vs Sasha Banks & Bayley – WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship

After their altercation last week, Alexa Bliss & Nikki Cross are set to defend their titles against Sasha Banks and Bayley. Last week at SmackDown, Bliss hosted a tag team champions summit on “A Moment of Bliss” with SmackDown Tag champs The New Day. Talking about the prospective challengers, New Day named The Forgotten Sons but Bliss and Cross did not have anyone in mind.

Banks and Bayley, the first-ever Women’s Tag Team Champions, then came out and started mocking Bliss. The segment turned into a brawl and then into a singles match between Sasha and Bliss. Now, the two teams are set to face-off in the tag team titles match.

Jeff Hardy To Tell His Story

Last week’s SmackDown opened with the news of a car accident involving Jeff Hardy and Elias. Hardy was arrested on the spot with DUI charges(kayfabe). This led to his semifinal match against Daniel Bryan getting canceled and Sheamus won the Battle Royal to face Bryan instead.

However, Hardy returned as the main event match between Sheamus and Bryan was going on. This distracted Sheamus and Bryan got the win over him. After the match, Hardy also hit the ring to attack Sheamus. Now, he will explain how he got involved in the accident and possibly how he got released from jail so quickly.

Daniel Bryan & AJ Styles Face-Off

Ahead of their Intercontinental Championship Tournament finals clash, Daniel Bryan and AJ Styles will come face to face in the ring. Last time these two were feuding, Bryan was the heel and won the WWE Championship from Styles. The roles are reversed this time around with Styles being the heel.

Earlier in the tournament, Bryan defeated Drew Gulak in the first round and then chose to face Sheamus in a semifinal matchup. AJ defeated another one of his rivals in Shinsuke Nakamura in the first round and embraced the “work smarter, not harder” mantra by accepting a bye in the semifinal round.

Coming from two different school of thoughts, the match is set to an exciting affair. But will the prelude be as exciting?

Miz & Morrison Warning for Strowman

Braun Strowman is set to defend his WWE Universal title against The Miz and John Morrison at WWE Backlash 2020 in a handicapped match. The tag team has claimed that they would make Strowman’s life a living hell. But how exactly are they going to accomplish that, remains to be seen when they will address Strowman tonight on SmackDown.
