Chris Jericho has agreed to face Ricky Starks in a rematch at AEW Revolution 2023 PPV in 10 days time.

Ricky Starks was out in the ring on February 22 episode of Dynamite. He started by saying that he has given up his quest for a rematch against Chris Jericho. He argued that with all the interruptions and cheating to not allow him to earn the rematch, he can say that Jericho does not want to face him again.

Starks instead put out an open contract for AEW Revolution and asked anyone from the locker room to sign it. Jericho came out to the stage and replied that he understood how Starks is trying to entice him into signing for a rematch. However, it was Jericho himself who stopped Peter Avalon from answering to Starks’ open challenge.

Jericho then moved into the ring when Starks said that he believed Jericho can actually beat him in a match even without any help from Jericho Appreciation Society. Starks continued that their match would, either way, end up getting ruined by JAS, so he will let it go. This enticed Jericho into signing a contract while also adding that JAS would remain backstage during their showdown at AEW Revolution.

The rivalry between Chris Jericho and Ricky Starks started when Starks turned down Jericho’s offer to join JAS. This led to a match between them on January 4 episode of Dynamite where Starks defeated Jericho. Action Andretti joined Starks’ side in several brawls that followed this match. Jericho used his baseball bat on Starks during a tag team match on January 18 to win that match.

After this loss, Starks had been asking for a singles rematch. JAS proposed the Garcia-Guevara Gauntlet challenge to Starks if he wanted a rematch. During this gauntlet match, Jericho would once again interfere by hitting Starks with Judas Effect to cost him the match. Starks later defeated JAS’ Daniel Garcia in a singles match last week on Rampage.

AEW Revolution 2023 PPV is set for March 5 in San Francisco. A 60-minute iron man match for AEW World Championship will headline the show. Texas Deathmatch is also set for the show between Hangman Adam Page and Jon Moxley.
