Tonight’s special anniversary episode of AEW Dynamite featured a Casino ladder match in which Adam Page made his return to the promotion.

Tony Khan earlier revealed that there would be a joker in this Casino Ladder match. That joker was revealed to be Adam Page who eventually won the ladder match.

The Casino Ladder match also featured the likes of Matt Hardy, Orange Cassidy, Jon Moxley, Andrade El Idolo, Pac, and Lance Archer fighting to get a shot at the AEW World Championship. Near the end, Page dropped Jon Moxley from the ladder and climbed the ladder himself to bring down the large casino chip.

Adam Page is now the no. 1 contender to challenge Kenny Omega for the AEW World Championship. However, the promotion is yet to reveal the date and location for this bout. But the chances are great that Adam Page vs Kenny Omega for the AEW World Title might take place at AEW Full Gear PPV on November 13

Adam Page has been a hot favorite among AEW fans to dethrone Kenny Omega. Page and Omega used to be AEW World Tag Team Champions but they had a fallout when they lost the titles to FTR. The Young Bucks also went on to remove Page from the Elites.

After this, Page and Omega faced off in the final of AEW World title eliminator tournament at Full Gear 2020, where Omega got the win. He then went on to defeat Jon Moxley for AEW title and also turned heel during the storyline.

Page, on the other hand, quietly started raking up win and reached the #1 ranking. After months of anticipation, Omega and Page had a face-off at AEW Road Rager event in July. Later, Page and Dark Order lost a tag team elimination, and the stipulation from the match meant that Page would not get his title shot. This turned out to be Page’s last match as before the break from the ring due to the birth of his child.

With a long storyline behind it and a high level of excitement, it is expected that AEW won’t throw this match away on weekly TV shows. With Full Gear just a month away, it may well turn out to be the event where we might see former friends collide.

Keep tuned in for more news and updates from AEW.
