Rob Font’s bout at UFC 292 is canceled now, and he is instead moved to UFC Nashville Fight Night main event.

Cory Sandhagen vs Umar Nurmagomedov bantamweight bout was set to headline UFC Nashville, which is set for August 5. Nurmagomedov was reported to have pulled out of the bout with undisclosed reasons.

Font was set to face Song Yadong in a bantamweight bout at UFC 292 main card. However, Marc Raimondi of ESPN reported on Thursday that Font will now face Sandhagen at UFC Nashville now in a catchweight bout. Raimondi also reported that the booking was changed after Song Yadong pulled out of UFC 291.

Font broke his two-fights skid with a win over Adrian Yanez at UFC 287 in April this year. Before that, he lost to Jose Aldo and Marlon Vera in back-to-back bouts.

Sandhagen is on a 2-fight winning streak with wins over Song Yadong and Marlon Vera. Before that, he lost to Petr Yan in the interim bantamweight title bout, and former champion TJ Dillashaw.

The bout between Sandhagen and Nurmagomedov was supposed to be a #1 contender bout. It remains to be seen if the same is the case with Font vs Sandhagen. Font is ranked at #7 in UFC’s bantamweight ranking, while Sandhagen is at #4.
