WWE SmackDown March 10: Intercontinental Title Qualifier & Tag Match Set
WWE has announced two matches for SmackDown episode of March 10, 2023, featuring a qualifier match for WWE Intercontinental Championship for WrestleMania 39.
Drew McIntyre was out in the ring this week on SmackDown, and said he would like to challenge for Intercontinental Championship at WrestleMania this year. Sheamus, McIntyre’s buddy with hot and cold relationship, came out in response and reminded Drew about his history with Gunther. Drew gave a blunt response by saying that Sheamus has failed in beating Gunther twice.
LA Knight also came out and staked his claim for the title shot. This drew out Kofi Kingston(w/ Xavier Woods), who defeated Knight last week. Even before Karrion Kross could enter the ring, Knight attacked Kofi to start a brawl. Drew hit Kofi, Woods and Knight with a suicide dive on the floor before Kross dropped Sheamus in the ring.
Later in the show, Gunther said it was poor leadership from Adam Pearce that his Intercontinental title defense was not finalized yet for WrestleMania 39. WWE then announced a 5-way match for March 10 episode to determine Gunther’s challenger with Drew, Sheamus, Knight, Kofi and Kross being the participants.
Another match announced for next week’s SmackDown is a tag team match between The Viking Raiders and the team of Braun Strowman & Ricochet. Strowman & Ricochet sided with Drew McIntyre last week in saving him from an attack from The Viking Raiders.
Only two matches are set for March 10 SmackDown episode as of yet. Additionally, Roman Reigns has warned Jimmy Uso to get Jey Uso back in fold with The Bloodline by next week or else there will be consequences. Will Jimmy somehow get his brother back somehow?
