WWE Elimination Chamber 2023: Austin Theory Retained the US Title with an Assistance from Logan Paul

Austin Theory defends WWE United States Championship at WWE Elimination Chamber 2023 event inside the Elimination Chamber cage. Seth Rollins, Johnny Gargano, Montez Ford, Bronson Reed and Damian Priest are the challengers.

Storyline

On the January 30 episode of WWE Raw, it was announced that Austin Theory would defend his United States title at Elimination Chamber 2023 inside the unforgiving structure. 

The same night Seth Rollins, Bronson Reed, and Johnny Gargano won their respective qualifying matches in order to enter the Chamber. A week later, Damian Priest and Montez Ford also grabbed the opportunity to become the last two participants of the United States title Elimination Chamber match.

Seth Rollins and Johnny Gargano kick off the match. They have back-and-forth pin attempts on each other. Both fight a bit before Johnny hits Seth Rollins and drops his on the steel part. 

The pod opens and the champion Austin Theory enters the match. Theory doesn’t waste any time and starts attacking both men. He hit Rollins inside the ring and then goes outside to send Johnny Gargano through the pod. Theory returns to the ring and Rollins counter his attack, and then both Gargano and Rollins take turns punching him.

Theory asks Gargano to forge an alliance with him, but Gargano refuses and hits him with a punch. As a result, Theory locks himself into his pod. However, Gargano and Rollins break into his pod and lock it from inside, and attack Theory. 

Damian Priest enters the match and dominates Gargano and Rollins. Priest hit Rollins and tries to cover but the latter kicks out. Theory tries to be friends with Priest as well but the latter kicks him followed by a senton on the steel floor. There is a back-and-forth inside the ring, and all four men try to drop each other. Priest goes on the top rope, but Seth Rollins measures him and hit him with the superplex followed by the falcon arrow. 

Damian Priest enters the match and dominates Gargano and Rollins. Priest hit Rollins and tries to cover but the latter kicks out. Theory tries to be friends with Priest as well but the latter kicks him followed by a senton on the steel floor. There is a back-and-forth inside the ring, and all four men try to drop each other. Priest goes on the top rope, but Seth Rollins measures him and hit him with the superplex followed by the falcon arrow. 

Bronson Reed enters the match and starts punishing Rollins and Gargano. He picks up Gargano and Rollins and hit them with the Samoan drop. He faces off with Damian Priest and gets the upper hand. He sends Priest to the chamber and then hit him with the splash outside the pod. Bronson goes to the top rope and hit Theory with the flying shoulder. 

Montez Ford is the last one to enter the match. He attacks Reed right after coming out. He then enters the ring and hits Theory with the spine buster. Ford then goes for the people’s elbow but Reed attacks him. 

Reed picks up Gargano and Seth Rollins helps the latter with the counter. Ford covers Reed but he kicks out. Ford tries to attack Priest, but the latter catches him and drops him on the steel floor. Priest goes for the powerbomb, but Montez Ford escapes and climbs the chamber. He goes all the way through the top, and then drops himself on all the participants. 

Everyone gangs up on Bronson Reed and hits him with the triple superkicks. Gargano hits the final beat, followed by the curb stomp by Seth Rollins, and then the frog splash by Ford. The latter covers and eliminates Bronson Reed. 

Theory fights Rollins where Damian Priest takes on Gargano outside the ring. Seth climbs to the top of the pod, and at the same time, Gargano does the same. Both of them sit on the top for a while before Rollins hits him with a chop, and starts pounding him to the glass part. Rollins picks up Gargano and goes for the powerbomb. However, Ggargano counters it with a hurricanrana from the top of the pod and launches him on Theory. 

Gargano rains superkicks outside before hitting Theory with the DDT on the unforgiving floor. Damian Priest catches Gargano and hits him with the Razor’s edge inside the ring to eliminate Johnny Gargano. 

Priest then attacks Rollins and Ford, but Rollins fights back. Meanwhile, Montez Ford climbs to the top of the rope, and Priest turns his attention to him. Seth Rollins picks up Priest, and Ford hits him with the blockbuster to eliminate Damian Priest. 

Montez Ford and Seth Rollins face off in the middle of the ring and have a back-and-forth. Ford drives Rollins outside and then launches himself on Theory outside the ring. He does the same to Rollins before launching himself on both of them. He tries to hit Theory with the frog splash but Theory counters it. Rollins hit Ford with the stomp on the steel floor and Theory covers him to eliminate Montez Ford. 

Montez Ford is not able to get out of the ring himself, and the referee asks for outside help. The officials take Montez outside the chamber. Meanwhile, Rollins measures Theory who counters the stomp but he gets hit by the pedigree instead. Logan Paul interferes in the match and attacks Seth Rollins. He also hits Rollins with the stomp. Austin Theory picks up Rollins and hits him with the A-Town Down to retain the United States title. 

Logan Paul watches and enjoys as Seth Rollins loses the match.
