WWE Announces NXT RoadBlock 2023 Event on March 7
WWE has announced NXT Roadblock 2023 event on March 7, 2023.
The announcement came during this week’s NXT episode where the commentary team mentioned that this will be the last NXT special event before NXT Stand and Deliver 2023 on April 1. NXT Roadblock 2022 was Premium Live Event(PLE).
The fourth WWE event in the Roadblock series, the 2023 edition will be an NXT weekly special which will air from WWE Performance Center in Orlando, FL. The venue has been the default home for NXT weekly episode and all but two of NXT PLE events since April 2021.
WWE event teased a match for Roadblock 2023 event. NXT Women’s Champion Roxanne Perez teamed up with Meiko Satomura to defeat Katana Chance and Kayden Carter in the main event of NXT on February 14, 2023.
After the match, Satomura took the mic and said she wanted something in return to help out Perez. Satomura signalled towards the Women’s title and Perez replied that it would be her honor to defend the title against Satomura, a pro wrestling legend in herself.
This will also be the second NXT weekly special this year after NXT New Year’s Evil on January 10, 2023. It was succeeded by NXT Vengeance Day PLE on February 4, 2023, in Charlotte, NC, which became the first NXT PLE outside WWE Performance Center since April 2022.
