Samoa Joe vs Wardlow vs Hobbs Triple Threat Set for AEW Full Gear
AEW has announced a triple threat match for TNT Championship at AEW Full Gear 2022 PPV event.
The match will feature Wardlow defending his TNT title against Powerhouse Hobbs and Samoa Joe. The match was set after a brawl between the three of them when Samoa Joe came out on Dynamite to explain his turn on Wardlow.
AEW TNT Champion Wardlow and ROH World TV Champion Samoa Joe have been working against The Embassy for the past few months and formed a tag team WardJoe. Powerhouse Hobbs blindsided Wardlow two weeks back to back after his matches on Rampage. At the same time, Joe’s discontent with Wardlow was simmering due to his promo.
After he defeated Ari Daivari by ease last week on Dynamite, Wardlow called out Hobbs to come face-to-face with him. When Hobbs came out, Wardlow dared him to come into the ring and said he is the best champion in this company. Samoa Joe took offense to that last line and dropped Wardlow from behind with his title belt.
Joe was welcomed to the ring this week to explain his turn on Wardlow by commentator Tony Schiavone. Joe said Wardlow failed to recognize that Joe was actually the most dangerous person in the ring, and he was tired of the disrespect from Wardlow. Hobbs interrupted his promo and drew a response from Joe to meet him in the ring.
But before they could get going, Wardlow’s music hit and he attacked Joe after running through the crowd. Hobbs also joined the three-way brawl. Many wrestlers from the locker room have to run out separate as three of them kept brawling.
Later in the show, the commentary team announced a three-way match between them for AEW TNT Championship at AEW Full Gear 2022 which takes place this Saturday at Prudential Center in Newark, NJ. Keep tuned in for more news and updates.
