Gunther vs Sheamus IC Title Match Set for Clash at the Castle
It is official that Sheamus will challenge Gunther for the WWE Intercontinental Championship at WWE Clash at the Castle on September 3, 2022.
Sheamus defeated Ricochet, Madcap Moss, Happy Corbin, and Sami Zayn in a fatal-5-way match to earn the opportunity to challenge the Ring General.
It will be the first time the Intercontinental Championship match will be a part of the PPV event since WrestleMania 37 where Big E faced Apollo Crews for the title.
Moreover, the PPV event will also mark Gunther’s return to the UK. He was the most dominant wrestler in NXT UK and held their most prestigious title for 870 days.
Gunther had his last NXT UK match earlier this year in January against Nathan Frazer. After that, he came to NXT and eventually made his move to the main roster.
He won the IC title from Ricochet and then defended his title against him and the former champion Shinsuke Nakamura.
On the other hand, if Sheamus wins the title at Clash at the Castle, then he will become a grand slam champion. So, which one of these dominating superstars will leave with the IC title on September 3?
