Roxanne Perez Dethrones Mandy Rose, Wins NXT Women’s Championship
Roxanne Perez defeated Mandy Rose to end her 413 days title reign as NXT Women’s Champion on NXT episode of December 13, 2022.
Roxanne Perez won the Iron Survivor Challenge match at NXT Deadline event past weekend. That win qualified her for a shot at NXT Women’s Championship, which came in the very next NXT weekly episode.
During the opening segment of this week’s NXT, Mandy blindsided Perez over with the title. The title match was then announced to take place in the main event. After a back-and-forth match, Mandy hit Perez with a running knee, but Perez kicked out of the pinfall.
Perez was then able to counter with a roll-up and quickly hit Pop-Rox(Canadian Destroyer) to get the pinfall herself. This is Roxanne Perez’s second big singles title win after she became the ROH Women’s Champion in 2021.
Mandy Rose won the NXT Women’s Championship at NXT Halloween Havoc 2021 episode. She held onto the title for 413 days, making her the third longest-reigning NXT Women’s Champion behind Asuka and Shayna Baszler.
Perez made her NXT Debut earlier this year and won NXT Women’s Breakout Tournament. She also won NXT Women’s Tag Team titles with Cora Jade, which later led to a feud with Jade.
