Men’s WarGames Match Set for WWE Survivor Series as Kevin Owens Return
The line-up for men’s WarGames match at WWE Survivor Series WarGames 2022 is now set.
Owens made his return to television after 2 months, and landed a stunner on Roman Reigns during the closing stages of SmackDown to make it clear that he is the fifth member of the team facing The Bloodline at Survivor Series.
The Bloodline consists of Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns, Undisputed WWE Tag Team Champions The Usos(Jimmy & Jey), Solo Sikoa and “The Honorary Uce” Sami Zayn. The Brawling Brutes’ Sheamus, Butch and Ridge Holland have been feuding with The Bloodline from the past two months.
Last week, Sheamus returned to SmackDown a month after being put on shelf by Solo Sikoa and The Usos. He brought his old nemesis Drew McIntyre with him to fight the numbers game by The Bloodline. This week on SmackDown’s November 18 episode, Sheamus explained how his 20-year storyline with Drew has ended with them bonding together, so much so that Drew was Sheamus’ Best Man at his wedding. Drew was also called an Honorary Brute, a world play on Zayn’s Honorary Uce Moniker.
Sami Zayn interrupted the segment and claimed that The Bloodline will win the WarGames match and that he will also beat Butch in SmackDown World Cup match. However, Butch was able to get the win over Sami after The Usos and Solo Sikoa started fighting Sheamus, Drew and Holland at ringside.
Roman Reigns came out to join the brawl and took the upper hand over Drew and Sheamus with timely distractions from Solo and Sami. However, Sami and Roman got the shock of their life when Kevin Owens’ music hit and he came out to side with The Brawling Brutes. After Owens hits Roman with a powerbomb, former best friends Owens and Sami faced off for a while in the ring.
Sami was removed from the ring by Holland, but the brief face-off had fans on social media into a frenzy. Long-standing speculation holds that Owens will contribute to the conclusion of the ongoing “Honorary Uce” plot leading to WrestleMania 39.
WWE has confirmed via social media and website that Owens is indeed the final member to join The Brawling Brutes & Drew McIntyre in WarGames match. Additionally, Drew McIntyre and Sheamus will face The Usos in WarGames Man Advantage match next week on SmackDown. Survivor Series 2022 event will take place on Saturday, November 26.
