Deiveson Figueiredo and Brandon Moreno will clash for the fourth time at UFC 283 PPV in UFC Flyweight unification bout.

Figueiredo currently holds the UFC Flyweight title, which he won for the second time by defeating Moreno. Moreno won the interim flyweight title at UFC 277 by beating Kai Kara-France.

The bout was first reported by Rodrigo Del Campo last week. It is now confirmed by several other reporters and outlets including ESPN’s Marc Raimondi. Raimondi even added that both fighters have signed the contract for UFC 283. Figueiredo himself posted on Instagram to confirm the news.

Moreno first challenged Figueiredo for the title at UFC 256 and the bout ended in a majority draw. Moreno won the rematch at UFC 263 PPV via submission to win the title. Figueiredo won the trilogy bout and the title at UFC 270 via close unanimous decision at 48-47 score on all three judges’ cards.

Figueiredo is the first fighter to win the UFC flyweight title twice as he was the third and fifth champion since the title was first introduced in 2012. A fourth bout was supposed to take place earlier this year between Figueiredo and Moreno, but an injury to Figueiredo led to UFC introducing an interim title.

UFC 283 PPV will be the first UFC PPV of the year 2023 as it takes place on January 22 in Rio De Janerio, Brazil. UFC is still working on a headliner bout for the event. Apart from the headliner, Jorge Masvidal vs Gilbert Burns is one of the marquee fights in discussion but nowhere near being finalized.
