A featherweight bout is added to UFC San Antonio card as Tucker Lutz is slated to face veteran Daniel Pineda.

The news comes from MMA Junkie who are reporting that the bout is finalized and UFC will confirm the bout in coming days for March 25, 2023 event.

Tucker Lutz did not fight in UFC in 2022, but his last fight in 2021 resulted in second professional MMA loss. Lutz lost his debut in 2015 following which he embarked on a 12-fights winning streak which also included a pair of wins in Dana White Contender Series in 2020.

Lutz made his UFC debut against Kevin Aguilar at UFC 262 with a unanimous decision win. However, his second bout in UFC resulted in a decision loss to Pat Sabbatani in November 2021. He was supposed to fight Seung Woo Choi in March 2022, but Choi pulled out due to an injury.

Daniel Pineda, an experienced and well-travelled fighter, will be taking part in his 45th official bout. He returned to UFC in 2020 for a second run after stints with PFL, LFA, Cage Fury and Bellator.

Pineda defeated Herbert Burns at UFC 252 in his return to UFC before losing to Cub Swanson at UFC 256. His last bout against Andre Fill in June 2021 ended in a No-Contest after accidental eye-poke from Fill.

Following this, Pineda tested positive for amphetamine which led to a nine-month suspension. He was supposed to fight Jamall Emmers in May 2022, but the fight was canceled with unknown reasons.

UFC San Antonio Fight Night event at AT&T Center in San Antonio, TX, is currently without a headliner fight. Sean Brady vs Michel Periera, Yana Kunitskaya vs Holly Holm and Alex Perez vs Manel Kape are some of the bout slated for the card.
