UFC has quickly rebooked Shavkat Rakhmonov vs Geoff Neal bout for UFC 285 PPV.
Rakhmonov vs Neal was earlier booked for January 14 Fight Night event. However, Neal withdrew from the bout due to an injury. It was initially expected that Rakhmonov will get a new opponent for the card. However, that is not the case.
ESPN’s Bret Okamoto is reporting that UFC has rebooked the welterweight bout between Shavkat Rakhmonov and Geoff Neal for UFC 285 card now. UFC 285 is scheduled for March 4, 2023, but does not have a headliner bout yet.
Rakhmonov went on to mock Neal for withdrawal earlier. This drew a quick response from Neal who clarified that he is injured and would like to rebook the bout in future. That is what UFC has also gone for.
Shavkat Rakhmonov remains undefeated in his MMA career so far with 16 wins. All of these 16 wins have come via knockouts or submissions with 4 of these wins coming under UFC’s banner.
Rakhmonov’s latest win came against Neil Magny at Fight Night in June 2022. He debuted against Alex Oliveira with a submission win before another submission over Michel Prazeres. He defeated Carlston Harris via knockout in February 2022.
Geoff Neal is back to winning ways with victories over Santiago Ponzinibbio and Vicente Luque in his last two bouts. Dana White Contender Series graduate from 2017, Neal started his UFC journey with 5 wins in a row before he lost two back-to-back bouts.
