A middleweight bout is in work for UFC 289 PPV between Marc-Andre Barriault and Eryk Anders.
Iridium Sports Agency, Anders’ management agency, announced the bout against Barriault on June 10, 2023. The date, not officially confirmed, is associated with UFC 289 PPV.
After arriving in the promotion undefeated in 2017, Eryk Anders holds 6-7 record in UFC. He snapped his two-bout losing streak by beating Kyle Daukaus in December last year. Before that, he lost to André Muniz and Jun Yong Park.
Marc-Andre Barriault also has more losses than wins under UFC but he has won 4 times in his last 6 bouts since the start of 2021. He lost to Chidi Njokuani in February 2022 before he beat Jordan Wright in April that year in a quick turnaround.
Barriault then lost to Anthony Hernandez at another fight night event in September before beating Julian Marquez at UFC 285 two weeks back.
UFC 289 is rumored to be taking place in Canada. It is for the same reason that UFC has booked Eryk Anders for this event. It is expected to be the same reason that UFC booked Canada’s Jasmine Jasudavicius against Miranda Maverick.
