Jiri Prochazka has not fought in 2023 so far. Prochazka’s last fight was against Glover Teixeira at UFC 275 event, where he won by submission to become UFC Light Heavyweight Champion.
He was set to defend the title against Teixeira at UFC 282. But, a shoulder injury and subsequent surgery forced him to vacate the title. Since he never lost the title, he was assured a title shot upon his return.
Alex Pereira’s recent fight was against Jan Błachowicz at UFC 291 event where he moved up to light heavyweight division. Pereira became the middleweight champion at UFC 281 last year by beating Israel Adesanya. He lost the title and a 4-fights winning streak in UFC at UFC 287 event against Israel Adesanya itself.
The light heavyweight title is currently vacant after Jamahal Hill had to vacate it last month due to an Achilles injury.
UFC 296 event is scheduled for December 16, 2023, and will be broadcast live from the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, United States. No bout is currently announced or reported as of now.
