Damir Ismagulov vs Grant Dawson Set for UFC Vegas 76
A new lightweight bout is set for the UFC Vegas 76 event in July.
According to the latest reports, Damir Ismahulov is set to collide against Grant Dawson at the UFC Fight Night event on July 1, 2023. Nolan King of MMA Junkie was the first one to report this matchup.
Damir Ismagulov’s five-fight winning streak was snapped by Arman Tsarukyan in his most recent match in December 2021. It was also his first-ever UFC loss. Before that, Ismagulov defeated Guram Kutateladze. He also registered wins against opponents like Thiago Moises and Rafael Alves.
On the other hand, Grant Dawson is yet to face a loss in UFC. Dawson has won seven back-to-back matches with a draw in between. He defeated both Mark Madsen and Jared Gordon via third-round submission in his last two matches. Before that, his fight against Ricky Glenn resulted in a majority draw.
In January, Damir Ismagulov already announced his retirement due to health-related issues. However, he also revealed that he had one more fight left according to his UFC contract. So, he agreed to do one more match with the promotion.
Now, it will be interesting to see whether Damir Ismagulov will be able to bid farewell to this sport on a winning note or not. Will he be the one to deliver Grant Dawson his first UFC loss or will the latter continue his winning run?
