WWE TLC will return to Target Center, Minneapolis after two years. This will be the 11th Tables, Ladders and Chairs event from WWE. TLC took place for the first time in 2009, replacing WWE’s earlier PPV Armageddon and has taken place every year since. The main event of the show will feature a Tables, Ladders, and Chairs match apart from similar gimmicks being used for some other matches also.

WWE TLC 2019 Matches
Bray Wyatt vs The Miz
After “The Fiend” Bray Wyatt defeated Daniel Bryan to retain the Universal Championship at Survivor Series, Daniel Bryan wanted to keep going after the title. The Fiend then appeared and attacked Bryan, dragging him under the ring and probably ripped out his hair.
On the following SmackDown, The Miz, who kept getting involved with Bryan, tried to get know about Bryan’s whereabouts. Wyatt interrupted and wanted to “play” with Miz since Bryan had disappeared. He also wanted to become a part of Miz’s family, which enraged Miz and he went searching for Wyatt. Later backstage, Miz found a photo-shopped picture of his family with Wyatt in place of Miz. After this, Wyatt attacked Miz.
A non-title match between Miz and Wyatt was then scheduled for TLC. This will be the first time Bray Wyatt’s first match since his return in April 2019 where he will be wrestling as his own instead of the Fiend. On the go-home SmackDown episode, Wyatt infiltrated The Miz’s home and tried to play mind games with Mix using his daughter.
Roman Reigns vs King Baron Corbin – TLC Match
The feud between Roman Reigns and King Baron Corbin started before Survivor Series. Roman Reigns was announced as the captain of SmackDown’s Men Team for the Tag Team Elimination match against Team RAW and NXT. King Corbin took exception to it and even tried to kick off Mustafa Ali and Shorty G out of the team. Before that, Baron Corbin defeated Roman Reigns in a singles match with some helpful distraction from Dolph Ziggler and Robert Roode.
At Survivor Series, Corbin interfered which caused the elimination of Mustafa Ali. An irritated Roman performed a spear on Corbin and aided to Corbin’s elimination. Reigns went on to win the match for his team. After this, Baron Corbin claimed at Team SmackDown won because of him and also implied that Roman actually betrayed his team by getting him eliminated.
Reigns challenged Baron Corbin to a match but Corbin introduced Dolph Ziggler and Robert Roode with Roode challenging Reigns for the match. Reigns won the match and went on to destroy Roode in the post-match brawl. The following week, a TLC match between Reigns and Corbin was announced for the PPV. Roman faced Dolph Ziggler the same week and came out on the winning side.
However, he was overpowered by Corbin, his security and Ziggler and they went on paste him with the dog food. At the SmackDown’s go-home edition for TLC, Roman came out to make the save on the New Day and went on to lay out Dolph Ziggler and forced Baron Corbin to make a run.
The New Day(c) vs The Revival – Ladder Match, SmackDown Tag Team Championship
The New Day’s Kofi Kingston and Big E defeated The Revival to win back the WWE SmackDown Tag Team Championship on 8 November 2019 episode of SmackDown. The Revival earlier defeated Xavier Woods and Big E for the titles. WWE earlier planned to put the New Day against Robert Roode and Dolph Ziggler. On 15 November 2019, New Day were able to retain the title against the Revival in a rematch.
But after Robert Roode was suspended for Wellness Policy Violations, WWE booked a number #1 contenders match between The Revival, Heavy Machinery, Lucha House Party, and Mustafa Ali & Shorty G in a fatal four-way elimination match on the 6 December episode of SmackDown. The Revival won the match to earn another rematch. Later, the match was made a ladder match.
Kabuki Warriors vs Becky Lynch & Charlotte Flair- TLC Match, WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship
During the women’s Survivor Series elimination match, Charlotte Flair has an altercation with Asuka, who spit Green mist in Flair’s face and resulted in Flair’s elimination from the match. Charlotte and Asuka faced off in a singles match next night on RAW where Asuka once again used the Green Mist and won the match. Next week, Flair lost to The Kabuki Warriors in a handicap match.
On the December 9 episode, Becky Lynch also faced Kabuki Warriors in another handicap match which ended in a DQ and a post-match beatdown on Lynch. Kabuki Warriors also attacked Flair backstage which prompted Flair and Becky to join forces, although unwillingly, to face the Kabuki Warriors at TLC.
Rusev vs Bobby Lashley- Tables Match
Rusev, Lana and Bobby Lashley, all returned from their hiatus on the 30 September episode of Raw. Rusev’s Universal Championship match ended in a no-contest when Lashley appeared and proceeded to make out with Lana. Lashley and Lana continued to torment Rusev with their love affair over the next several weeks. Lana announced that Rusev had cheated on her first and that he was a sex addict.
Divorce papers and restraining orders came into the scene. On the November 25 episode, Rusev violated the restraining order and attacked Lashley. The following week, Rusev once again violated the restraining order and attacked Lashley. The Police Officers instead arrested Lashley and Lana after Lashley shoved a cop and Lana slapped another one. On the December 9 episode, Lana and Rusev signed their divorce papers under the agreement that Rusev received a match against Lashley at TLC and WWE booked it as a Tables match.
Aleister Black vs Buddy Murphy
On the 18 November episode of Raw, Buddy Murphy went outside Aleister Black’s locker room to challenge him. But Black got late in attending the door. Murphy claimed that Black was all talk and no fight but Black confronted him just a few minutes later. The following week, Black appeared and attacked Murphy after his match. After some more back and forth promos and brawls over the next weeks, a match between Murphy and Black was scheduled for TLC.
The Viking Raiders RAW Tag Team Open Challenge
On the 9 December episode of Raw, Raw Tag Team Champions The Viking Raiders (Erik and Ivar) issued an open challenge for their titles. The challenge was answered by The Street Profits, who were defeated by the Viking Raiders after a short match. The following day on WWE Backstage, it was announced that The Viking Raiders had issued another open challenge for TLC.
Humberto Carrillo vs Andrade
Humberto Carrillo was doing in an interview backstage on the RAW episode of 9 December 2019 when Andrade came and starting arguing with him. This led to a match between them later that night. Zelina Vega tried to interfere in the match but Andrade inadvertently ended up sending her to the floor. Carrillo took advantage of the distraction and managed to roll up Andrade to get the win. They were later booked for a rematch at WWE TLC pre-show.
