Sabu Appears in AEW, To be in Adam Cole’s Corner vs Chris Jericho

Sabu AEW Dynamite

Hardcore Legend Sabu made his first appearance in AEW as he appeared on AEW Dynamite May 24 episode in support of Adam Cole.

Adam Cole and Chris Jericho are set to clash in an unsanctioned match at AEW Double or Nothing 2023 PPV. They met in the ring for a contract signing segment this week on Dynamite to make their match official.

As they argued, Jericho claimed that he would beat Cole since all 5 members of Jericho Appreciation Society can interfere in the match while Cole just has Roderick Strong in his corner. Cole then revealed that he knew about this issue and hence called upon a legend from Las Vegas who is suicidal and genocidal.

Sabu then made his entrance to the ring. He hits Matt Menard with a steel chair when Menard tried to attack him. It was also revealed that Sabu will be Adam Cole’s corner during his match against Chris Jericho at Double or Nothing.

Sabu last appeared on TV when in 2019 in IMPACT Wrestling, although he has worked in independent circuit until 2021.

The rivalry between Chris Jericho and Adam Cole started in March after Cole defeated Daniel Garcia in his in-ring return on Dynamite. Jericho masterminded an attack on Cole and his partner Britt Baker with The Outcasts which saw Baker being beaten up with kendo sticks while Cole was handcuffed to the ropes.

Cole led his team to defeat Jericho Appreciation Society but Jericho refused to face him in a match. Cole then attacked Jericho during his Falls Count Anywhere match last week on Dynamite, costing him the match. An unsanctioned match was then announced for Double or Nothing.
