Updates on Kevin Owens for WWE Survivor Series WarGames 2022

Kevin Owens SUmmerSlam 2019

It has been long rumoured that Kevin Owens is going to be one of the participants in the men’s WarGames match at WWE Survivor Series 2022 event.

However, an MCL sprain, which Owens suffered during Sunday’s WWE Live Event, has put his involvement in the match in doubt. There are a couple of updates on Owens related to his status at Survivor Series.

Dave Meltzer, on the latest Wrestling Observer Radio, has updated that Owens is rehabbing at WWE Performance Center and his status for WarGames is still up in the air. Meltzer also reported that the original plan was The Bloodline to take on The Brawling Brutes, Drew McIntyre and Kevin Owens in the men’s WarGames match.

PWInsider has another update on Owens. Their report says Owens is in the plan for this week’s SmackDown tapings and all the other tapings until Survivor Series. The other tapings will be RAW on November 21 and SmackDown on November 25. It remains to be seen if those plans have changed since.

The rivalry between The Bloodline and The Brawling Brutes started with Tag Team Championship between The Usos and Butch & Ridge Holland. Outside interference led to The Usos retaining the titles at a SmackDown episode in September. Solo Sikoa and Sheamus were later part of fatal 4-way #1 contender match for Intercontinental Championship.

Sikoa and Sheamus later faced off in a singles match and The Bloodline attacked Sheamus after the match to put him on shelf. Sheamus, Butch and Holland then interrupted Roman Reigns’ segment on Smackdown past week. They also brought in Drew McIntyre to work against the Bloodline’s numbers game. Sami Zayn and Butch will collide in the first-round match of SmackDown World Cup.

It remains to be seen how Kevin Owens, or whoever his replacement is going to be, is going to enter the storyline now.

WWE Survivor Series WarGames 2022 event will air on November 26 from TD Garden Arena in Boston, MD. Keep tuned in for more news and updates for the show.
