NXT Championship and NXT UK Championship will be unified at World Collide 2022 event.
NXT Champion Bron Breakker and NXT UK Champion Tyler Bate will clash at the event on September 4, 2022, in a title vs title match.
Tyler Bate came out to have a face off with Bron Breakker last week at NXT Heatwave after Breakker had retained NXT title against JD McDonagh. This week on NXT, Breakker opened the show and asked Bate to come out. Bate brought to everyone’s notice that he was the first NXT UK Champion and the only wrestler to win that title twice.
Bate then added that he would also like to be the last NXT UK Champion and become the one true champion in NXT. Breakker then accepted to face him in a title vs title match at Worlds Collide event. WWE later made the match official with a contract signing segment between the two champions.
NXT Worlds Collide event is returning for the first time since January 2020 where NXT and NXT UK stars clashed in several different matches. This time though, the theme seems to be the title unification with NXT UK going on a hiatus to make way for NXT Europe brand.
Apart from NXT Championship unification, NXT UK Women’s Champion Meiko Satomura, NXT Women’s Champion Mandy Rose, and Blair Davenport will clash in a triple threat match for NXT Women’s Championship unification. NXT Tag Team title unification was also teased between The Creed Brothers and the team of Brooks Jensen and Josh Briggs.
Keep tuned in for the latest updates from the event.
