Welcome to the live results blog for AEW Dynamite February 1, 2023 episode which aired from Dayton, OH, and continued to build up towards AEW Revolution 2023 event.

Hometown hero Jon Moxley was advertised to take on “Hangman” Adam Page for their trilogy bout. Jade Cargill faced Red Velvet in her 50th AEW as she was on the verge of creating history by getting to a 50-0 record.

Bryan Danielson clashed with Timothy Thatcher as his next challenger in his quest to become the #1 challenger for AEW World Championship. Konosuke Takeshita faced Brian Cage in a singles match. AEW World Tag Team Champions The Acclaimed will return to action in a tag team match.

Additionally, Kenny Omega returned to AEW this week with The Young Bucks. AEW World Champion MJF also featured on the show along with a No Holds Barred Match between Darby Allin and Samoa Joe for AEW TNT Championship. AEW Dynamite Results February 1, 2023

  • Jon Moxley defeated Adam Page in a singles match via pinfall.
  • The Acclaimed(Max Caster & Anthony Bowens) defeated The Outrunners(Truth Magnum & Turbo Floyd) in a tag team match via pinfall.
  • Konosuke Takeshita defeated Brian Cage in a singles match via pinfall.

Live Updates

Adam Page vs Jon Moxley

Moxley comes out with his father, Dan, and Wheeler Yuta. Page comes out and Moxley cuts his entrance at the ramp itself. Moxley sends Page into the steel steps and then into the barricade. He dumps Page over the barricade and into the crowd, and then jumps on him with a double ax handle.

Page sets up Moxley on a chair and hits a running boot. Moxley then puts Page in a leg lock while still in the crowd. Page kicks at his face to break it. They return to the ringside and Moxley hits an elbow drop on Page’s leg. He wraps a chair around the leg but the referee stops him. Page recovers and throws the chair on Moxley’s face. Page hits a suplex on the floor.

They get into the ring finally and the referee calls for the bell. They trade strikes to start. Page misses a dropkick and fall on his back when Moxley hangs back on the ropes. Moxley puts on a leg lock again. Page breaks free and hits a German suplex. Moxley is split open on his forehead.

Page nails him with a chop and follows up with several punches. Page wastes some time, giving Moxley a chance to hit back with chops and punches. Page hits him with a fallaway slam. Moxley cuts off a springboard lariat to drop Page. They are on the apron now and Mox puts on a sleeper choke. Page pokes at the wound on his forehead to break free.

Page blocks piledriver while Mox blocks Dead Eye on the apron itself. Page picks Moxley and drops him face-first on the ring post. Moxley falls to the floor and we cut to a break.

They are on the top turnbuckle as we return. Page hits Moxley with an avalanche Death Valley Driver to get a near fall. Page kicks at his face and asks him to stay down. Moxley flips him off and hits back with a cutter. They get up and start trading chops and forearms. Moxley hits calf kicks and thigh kicks before Page breaks a choke and hits a German suplex. Moxley hits back with a German suplex of his own.

Moxley nails a superplex to get a two-count before hitting hammer elbows. Page breaks a bulldog choke. Moxley hits him with stomps on the face. Page blocks Deathrider and Moxley transitions into juji-gatame. Page gets his leg on the ropes to break it. A back body drop sends Moxley to the floor directly. Page misses an Orihara Moonsault on the floor and Moxley drops him with a lariat.

Moxley sets up the table but Page fires back with punches and drops him through the table with a pop-up powerbomb. Page gets back to the ring and the referee starts the countdown. Moxley breaks the count at 9. Page greets him with a lariat and Dead Eye for a near fall.

Page misses a kick and Moxley hits a back with a King Kong lariat. Page takes his time to get up. They start to trade forearms until Page hits a superkick and small package driver to get a near fall. Page gets on the apron for Buckshot Lariat but Moxley blocks it. Page hits him with tombstone piledriver and then with Buckshot Lariat. Moxley kicks out though.

Page puts on a bulldog choke now. Moxley traps him in a roll up and Page could not get his arms out of Moxley’s neck. Moxley gets the pinfall with that move.

Winner – Jon Moxley

After the match, Wheeler Yuta and Claudio Castagnoli come into the ring. Page wants to fight more and Moxley is also up for it. Yuta and Claudio keep them separated though.


We get a video package for Darby Allin vs Samoa Joe No Holds Barred match. It is also announced that there will be no rematch between them after this match.


AEW Women’s Champion Jamie Hayter and The Bunny are backstage. Bunny challenges Hayter for a match next week which will be Women’s Title Eliminator. Paige and Toni Storm have attacked Britt Baker DMD. Hayter runs off to save Baker.

The Acclaimed(Max Caster & Anthony Bowens) vs The Outrunners (Truth Magnum & Turbo Floyd)

The Acclaimed come out with Max Caster doing his rap. Their opponent try to avenge their insult during the rap by mocking the “Scissor Me”. Caster nails one of them with a superkick to stop that. They drop the other one in the middle of the ring. Bowens hits Scissor Me Timber before Caster hits Mic Drop Elbow Drop to get the pinfall.

Winners – The Acclaimed

After the match, The Gunn Club come out and challenge Acclaimed for a tag team title match. The Acclaimed says they are the most popular tag team on the planet. They ask the crowd if the Gunn Club deserve a shot at tag team title. The two teams start to bicker. Billy Gunn separates them and says he is done with all this and both teams can go ahead and beat each other up.

Billy leaves the ring. His sons start to insult him and say that Billy is leaving again as he used to leave them during their childhood. Billy gets back into the ring and tells the Gunn Club that they will get the tag team title shot next week.


Jungle Boy is backstage where he is asked about JungleHook tag team. He replies that tag team thing is not for him and he wants to be a champion again, but on his own.

Brian Cage vs Konosuke Takeshita

Takeshita starts with a running boot. They trade chops and boots. Takeshita sends Cage into the corner. He kicks Cage off the apron with a boot to send him to the floor. Cage hits a powerbomb into the ring post. They return to the ring and Cage hits a sliding dropkick.

KT blocks a piledriver and they start to trade shots. KT hits a big elbow strike. Cage hits back with knees before KT hits a Blue Thunderbomb for a near fall. He misses a jumping knee in the corner and falls on the apron. Cage hits him with a suplex from the apron from the second rope. We cut to a break.

Brian is still in control as we return. Takeshita counters by pushing Cage into the turnbuckle. He hits a shotgun dropkick. Cage hits him with back elbows but Takeshita hits him with a lariat and a bridging German suplex for a two-count. Cage hits a buckle bomb before KT counters with a liger bomb for another near fall.

Cage blocks a knee and hits back with a backdrop driver and a discuss lariat for a near fall. Takeshita hits two back-to-back sheer drop brainbusters for another near fall. Cage hits him with a Death Valley Driver now. Cage takes KT on the top rope. KT hits back with an avalanche brainbuster. He hits a running knee next to get the pin.

Winner – Konosuke Takeshita

Jericho Appreciation Society are backstage with Renee Paquette. They are asked about Ricky Starks, and Jericho scoffs at the cheating accusations. Sammy Guevara and Daniel Garcia reveal their plan for Garcia-Guevara Gauntlet – if Starks want a rematch with Jericho, then he needs to beat Angelo Parker, Matt Menard and either of Danny Garcia or Sammy Guevara first.


The Elites and The Firm get into an argument backstage to set up a trios match for Rampage.

Bryan Danielson vs Timothy Thatcher

Thatcher goes for fujiwara armbar after initial scuffle. Bryan gets on the ropes to break it. They trade shots before Thatcher drops Bryan with an uppercut. Thatcher puts on armlock. Bryan breaks it and hits a dragon screw leg. Bryan works on the leg for a while before Thatcher catches his arm again. He hits a knee strikes to the shoulder.

Bryan hits chops in the corner but Thatcher cuts off running knee. Thatcher pulls Bryan in the air Bryan’s armbar. Thatcher puts on a Kimura lock but Bryan gets to the ropes. We cut to a break.

Thatcher is still working on arm and shoulder of Bryan. He throws around Bryan, pulling him by his shoulders, and also nails some uppercuts. Thatcher htis more uppercuts on the top rope. Bryan fights back on the top rope with headbutts. Bryan hit a missile shotgun dropkick next.

They trade chops and forearms in the middle now. Bryan hits Yes Kicks but Thatcher chops the last kicks. Bryan quickly nails him with more strikes before going for hammer elbows to his neck. Bryan puts on a choke. Thatcher triest to break free by working on the injured shoulder. Thatcher pushes Bryan to the corner and the referee gets trapped and slammed to the corner.

Thatcher hits a Death Valley driver on Bryan. MJF comes out with Dynamite Diamond Ring but Konosuke Takeshita attacks him on the ramp. Thatcher puts on fujiwara armbar and Bryan has to get to the ropes to break it. Bryan hits some big shots before hitting Busaika Knee to get the pinfall.

Winner – Bryan Danielson

MJF and Takeshita are fighting backstage and continue until security separates them. Renee Paquette comes into the scene and informs that Tony Khan has announced a World Title Eliminator match next week between MJF and Takeshita.


We get a short video package where Shane “Swerve” Strickland talks about Dustin Rhodes and how Dusty Rhodes gave him the Swerve moniker. Swerve says he will take down another second generational nepotism by taking out Brian Pillman Jr. at Rampage.


It is announced that Bryan Danielson will next face Rush. MJF comes to Rush and hands him a briefcase full of money. MJF says this is only the first one free of charge. He has 5 more such cases, which Rush will get if he beats Bryan Danielson.

Jade Cargill(c) vs Red Velvet – AEW TBS Women’s Championship

Velvet rushes Jade right after the bell but Jade hits back quickly with a knee. Velvet tackles her to the mat and unloads with punches. Velvet hits a knee to send her to the floor. Jade gets a hair adjustment from Leila Gray but this gives Velvet a chance to hit her with a dropkick.

They fight on the floor with Velvet still keeping the upper hand. She hits a knee against the barricade while also slamming Jade into the ring post. Cargill hits a German suplex to come back into the match. Cargill hits a body slam to get take us to a break.

Jade tosses Velvet from corner to corner. She shows off by doing some push-ups before another throw across the ring. Velvet hits a dropkick and a lungblower. Velvet hits several kicks but Jade hits back with a pump kick. Keira Hogan slams Leila Gray into the steel steps.

Velvet hits a roundhouse kick on Jade but the referee was busy arguing with Hogan. Velvet puts on short-arm scissors submission. She tries to wrap her legs around Jade’s neck but Jade picks her up on his shoulders. Jade transitions it into the Jaded to get the pinfall.

Winner – Jade Cargill

Jade celebrates the win by picking her daughter up from the front row.


We get a medical update on Britt Baker backstage. Baker says she is fine but they can strike back at Saraya and Storm similarly. Ruby Soho comes in to check on Baker. Baker says she is with the other girls. Ruby says she is not with anyone. Baker says she knows those girls for a long time and it’s suspicious that she is coming in this late. Ruby leaves.

Darby Allin(c) vs Samoa Joe – No Holds Barred Match for AEW TNT Championship

Darby is wearing a thumbtack jacket and hits Joe with a back splash immediately upon entering the ring. After some quick action, Joe kicks back at him. Joe wraps a towel around his hands and hits a big lariat to drop Darby. Joe rips off the thumbtack jacket. Joe is bringing out a table when Darby hits him with a suicide dive.

Joe whips Darby into the barricade but Darby’s knees also strike the steel steps on its way. Darby is dumped into the crowd. Joe and Darby continue to fight in the crowd. Joe drops him on the concrete floor. We cut to a break.

Joe is still in control as we return and continues to manhandle him. Darby fights back from a choke, but Joe hits an Urinage from the corner to get a two-count. Joe hits massive chops and Darby has to get to the apron for a breather. Joe kicks him to the floor. Joe brings out a table and sets it up vertically against the barricade.

Darby hits a jawbreaker to come back. Darby hits quick chops before Joe simply throws him over the ropes. Joe hits a brainbuster and then goes to pull out some steel chairs. Joe drops Darby on the chairs with a side slam. Darby hits a knee to Joe’s face to block another slam and hits a Code Red.

Darby also throws some powder into Joe’s eyes and hits a stunner. Darby puts on the thumbtacks jacket and hits a Coffin drop but Joe kicks out of the pin. Darby brings out a cutter and cuts off the ring cover to expose the wooden board and steel frame.

Darby goes for a suicide dive but Joe just walks away and Darby crashes through a table. Joe drops Darby on the thumbtack jacket. Joe wraps the jacket around his face but Darby rakes Joe’s face with the jacket. Darby hits him with steel chairs. Joe pushes the referee into the ropes to trip Darby on the top rope. Joe hits a Muscle Buster on the exposed wooden ring board to get the pinfall.

Winner – Samoa Joe

Joe is celebrating in the ring when Wardlow makes his entrance. Wardlow attacks Joe in the ring. He goes for a powerbomb but Joe slips out to the floor. Security runs out and tries to get Wardlow under control. Wardlow starts beating them up. Joe leaves to the back with both of his titles. Wardlow throws one of the security guys in all the others on the floor as the show goes off the air.
