AEW Dynamite Preview & Match Card December 28, 2022
AEW will present Dynamite New Year’s Smash special on December 28, 2022, which will feature TNT Championship match between Samoa Joe and Wardlow.
The show will also feature a singles match between Bryan Danielson and Ethan Page. Additionally, The Elites will face Death Triangle in a Falls Count Anywhere match while Jon Moxley and Claudio Castagnoli will face Top Flight in a tag team match. Who is the King of Television?
Samoa Joe and Wardlow were on a similar path in a feud with The Embassy and Powerhouse Hobbs. However, Joe could not hold himself back when Wardlow kept saying every week that he is not afraid of anyone. When Joe turned on Wardlow, he also set a path for a shot at TNT Champion and went on to win the title at Full Gear PPV in a triple threat match.
With Joe holding both ROH TV title and AEW TNT Championship, he has justifiably took on the moniker of “King of Television”. Will he be able to prove that the moniker fits him as he takes on Wardlow one-on-one?
Bryan Danielson vs Ethan Page
Last week on Dynamite, Bryan Danielson was addressing MJF when Ethan Page and Stokeley Hathaway interrupted him. Page took offence saying that Danielson is actually trying to jump the line and getting a title shot and he will not let this happen. Danielson then replied by telling him to come and fight him. Page then countered with an offer for a match at New Year’s Smash. Will Page prove that he deserves the title shot more than Danielson? Will MJF try to interfere in this match?
The Elite vs Death Triangle – Match 6
While the Elite were able to win the No Disqualification match against Death Triangle last week, Death Triangle are still leading the series by 3-2. Match 6 will be a Falls Count Anywhere match with everything legal. Will The Elite tie the series here and set up the final ladder match for January 11?
Moxley & Castagnoli vs Top Flight
Blackpool Combat Club look set to win $300,000 Casino Battle Royal when Moxley jumped out to attack Adam Page. Later, Top Flight were able to last eliminate Claudio Castagnoli to win the Battle Royal. With revenge on their minds, Moxley and Castagnoli will face The Martin Brothers – Darius and Dante – in a tag team match.
Ruby Soho & Willow Nightingale vs Tay Melo & Anna Jay AS
Ruby Soho took her revenge on Tay Melo when she defeated her in a match last week on Dynamite. However, Anna Jay attacked Soho after the match to leave her dishevelled. Willow Nightingale has now come in to team up with Soho to take on Melo and Jay.
