Yana Kunitskaya Returns to Face Holly Holm at UFC San Antonio
Holly Holm will fight Yana Kunitskaya at UFC Fight Night on March 25, 2023.
The report comes from MMA Fighting, who are reporting the bantamweight bout is in plans for the event in San Antonio, TX.
Holly Holm, former UFC Women’s Bantamweight Champion, missed action in 2021 due to some health issues and later due to a knee injury. She returned in 2022 to face Ketlen Veira to headline a Fight Night event in March. She got a controversial split decision against her to see her two wins streak snapped.
Prior to this loss, she defeated Raquel Pennington and Irene Adler in 2020. Her fifth and most recent title bout came against Amanda Nunes in July 2019 when she failed to win back the bantamweight title.
Yana Kunitskaya has not competed since July 2021 after getting pregnant. She suffered a knockout loss to Irene Adler in the first round of her last bout at UFC 264. Prior to that loss, she has two wins against Julija Stoliarenko and Ketlen Vieira.
UFC will return to San Antonio for the first time since 2019 as they host the event at AT&T Center. Maycee Barber vs Andrea Lee bout is also scheduled for the show.
