EVENT NOTES

UFC Fight Night 231 was announced to air from Sao Paulo, Brazil. This was the ninth UFC event taking place Sao Paulo, and the first one since November 2019 Fight Night event.

In early June, some reports came out mentioning that Jailton Almeida is likely to take on Curtis Blaydes in the headline an event in Sao Paulo, Brazil, on November 4, 2023. The event as well as the main event bout were officially confirmed on August 13, 2023. On October 9, AgFight reported that Blaydes had suffered an injury and pulled out of the event. Derrick Lewis came in as a replacement to face Almeida.

Ismael Bonfim missed weight by 4.5 lbs. His fight against Vinc Pichel was canceled after Pichel refused to take part in a catchweight bout. Pichel also missed weight by 1 lb in his first attempt but was able to make weight in the second attempt after one hour.

Eduarda Moura missed weight by 3.5 lbs for the fight against Montserrat Ruiz. The fight was later changed to a catchweight bout and Moura has to pay 30% of her purse as a fine to Ruiz.

Victor Hugo missed weight by 2.5 lbs which led to the fight against Daniel Marcos getting canceled.
