A rematch between Rodrigo Nascimento and Don’Tale Mayes is in work for UFC November 4, 2023 event.

Nascimento faced Mayes in his UFC debut back in May 2020 and got a submission win in second round. That was Mayes’ second UFC bout and his second loss in the promotion.

MMA Fighting is now reporting that the rematch between Nascimento and Mayes is in work. The heavyweight bout is targeted for UFC event on November 4, 2023, which is expected to take place in Sao Paulo, Brazil.

After that bout, Nascimento suffered a loss to Chris Daukaus, but bounced back with a win over Alan Baudot. That win was later overturned to No Contest after he tested positive for ritalinic acid and was suspended for 6 months. He has since beaten Tanner Boser and Ilir Latifi via split decision. The win over Latifi came at UFC Vegas 73 event.

Mayes has 3 wins and 2 losses along with 1 No Contest since the bout against Nascimento. His recent win was over Andrie Arlovski at UFC Vegas 74. He previously defeated Roque Martinez and Josh Parisian before losing to Hamdy Abdelwahab, but that bout was overturned to No Contest after Abdelwahab tested positive for methenolone.

UFC Sao Paulo on November 4 is expected to be headlined by another heavyweight bout between Jalton Almeida and Curtis Blaydes. A light heavyweight bout between Vitor Petrino and Modestas Bukauskas is also in work. Caio Borralho vs Nursulton Ruziboev bout is also reported for the event.
