Brunno Ferriera vs Gregory Rodrigues UFC 283

Brunno Ferriera has stepped in to replace Brad Tavares at UFC 283 PPV next week for his UFC Debut.

Brad Tavares was supposed to face Gregory Rodrigues in a middleweight bout. Rodrigues announced on Tuesday in an interview with Supersports Book that Tavares has pulled out of the bout due to an injury and UFC is searching for someone to fight him.

MMA Fighting then reported that Ferriera has then agreed to face Rodrigues with just 10 days left for the bout.

Brunno Ferriera(9-0) was signed to UFC after he knocked out Leon Aliu in the first round. Prior to that, Ferriera has mostly fought in local Brazilian promotions so far and has finished all of his 9 fights so far. He has 6 knockouts and 3 submissions so far.

Daniel Rodrigues, former LFA Middleweight Champion, has 4 wins in 5 UFC bouts so far. He defeated Duško Todorović in his UFC debut in June 2021 before a win over Jun Yong Park.

Rodrigues started 2022 with a loss to Armen Petrosyan before beating Julian Marquez and Chidi Njokuani. Both his wins in 2022 brought him performance awards.

UFC 283 takes place on January 21, 2023, in Rio De Janeiro, Brazil, and will determine the new Light Heavyweight Champion in the main event bout between Glover Teixeira and Jamahal Hill.

This is the second bout that is changed this month for the event with a debutant coming in as a late replacement. Melquizael Costa will debut against Thaigo Moisés in a lightweight bout as he stepped in to replace Guram Kutateladze.
