Trevin Giles to Face Preston Parsons at UFC San Antonio
Trevin Giles will be fighting in his hometown for the first time under UFC as he takes on Preston Parsons at UFC San Antonio Fight Night.
The news comes from Marcel Dorff who reported the welterweight bout on Friday night. UFC San Antonio is scheduled for March 25, 2023, at AT&T Center.
This will be Giles’s first hometown bout since RFA 41 in July 2016. He has previously fought under UFC in Texas as he faced James Krause in Houston, TX, at UFC 247.
27 years old Jacksonville native Preston Pance has participated in just two bouts under UFC banner. He suffered a defeat to Daniel Rodriguez in his UFC debut in July 2021 before he defeated Evan Elder for Louis Cosce, a late replacement, via a unanimous decision in April 2022.
Giles has moved to the welterweight bout after going 4-3 in his first 7 bouts in UFC in the middleweight division. He lost to Michael Morales in his first welterweight bout at UFC 270 early in 2022. He later defeated Louis Cosce at a Fight Night in September 2022.
No headliner is confirmed for UFC San Antonio as of yet. However, Sean Brady vs Michel Pereira, Daniel Pineda vs Tucker Lutz, and Alex Perez vs Manel Kape are some of the bouts reported for the event.
