Tuivasa was once seen as close to being a heavyweight title contender after UFC 271 when he was on a 5-fight winning streak. However, he lost to Ciryl Gane at UFC Paris in September and then lost to Sergei Pavlovich at a Fight Night event in December last year.
Alexander Volkov has won 3 fights and lost twice in his 5 recent bouts. In his last two fights, Volkov got first-round knockout wins against Alexandr Romanov at UFC Las Vegas event in March this year and Jairzinho Rozenstruik at UFC Vegas 56 in June last year.
If Volokov wins the fight, it will mark 3 consecutive victories for him. Conversely, for Tuivasa, it will mark a third consecutive loss if he losses. So, which way the fight will go?
UFC 293 event is scheduled for September 9 in Sydney, Australia. Israel Adesanya vs Dricus Du Plessis bout for the UFC Middleweight Championship is expected to headline the event.
