Sean Strickland vs Jared Cannonier to Headline Oct 15 UFC Event

According to the latest reports, Sean Strickland is set to collide against Jared Cannonier in the main event of the October 15 UFC Fight Night event. 

Ariel Helwani reported the matchup via posting a tweet. He revealed the event will likely take place at UFC Apex in Las Vegas. 

Jared Cannonier is coming off a loss against the UFC Middleweight champion Israel Adesanya. Cannonier failed to capture the UFC middleweight title at UFC 276 last month. Before that, he defeated Derek Brunson and Kelvin Gastelum. 

On the other hand, Sean Strickland’s six-fight winning streak was snapped by the next title challenger Alex Pereira at UFC 276. The latter defeated him via KO in the very first round. Strickland has been undefeated since 2018 and it was his first loss in the last four years. 

Both Cannonier and Strickland suffered a loss at the same event and are now determined to get back on the winning path again. 

Hence, it will be interesting to see who between Cannonier and Strickland will leave the octagon with victory when they square off in a five-round bout on October 15, 2022.
