Cody Garbrandt who is supposed to make his UFC return at UFC Vegas 61 has been pulled out of the Fight Night card due to injury.

UFC confirmed that the former UFC Bantamweight champion will not be a part of the UFC Vegas 61 on October 1 due to injury. ESPN was the first one to report this news.

Garbrandt was supposed to face Rani Yahya at this event. However, Yahya was also forced to pullout due to a neck injury.

The promotion was looking for a replacement to face Garbrandt, but now due to the latter’s injury, UFC will have to come up with an entirely new bout.

This is the second time Yahya vs Garbrandt was canceled. The bout was scheduled for UFC Vegas 58 as well, but it was nixed due to Yahya’s neck injury.

Now, it remains to be seen whether UFC will book Cody Garbrandt vs Rani Yahya for the third time or will they get new opponents.
