Khalil Rountree vs Chris Daukaus heavyweight bout is reported to be rescheduled for UFC Vegas 78 event.

They were supposed to clash at UFC 289 PPV this week, but Daukaus pulled out due to injury just 4 days ago. Tom Freely of Sherdog reported that the bout is now rescheduled to UFC Vegas 78.

Khalil Rountree has turned around his form with 3 wins in a row beating Modestas Bukauskas, Karl Roberson and Dustin Jacoby. On the contrary, Chris Daukaus has lost his last 3 bouts against Derrick Lewis, Curtis Blaydes and Jairzinho Rozenstruik.

In another news, ESPN’s Contreas Legaspi reported that UFC newcomers Marcus McGhee and Gaston Bolaños will clash in a bantamweight bout. McGhee debuted in April this year beating Journey Newson in a short notice fight. Bolaños also made his debut two weeks before McGhee to beat Aaron Phillips.

Tafon Nchukwi will take on AJ Dobson in a middleweight bout at UFC Vegas 78, as per a report from MMA Fighting. Nchukwi is coming off two losses in 2022 against Azamat Murzakanov and Carlos Ulberg via knockouts. The same goes for Dobson also, who lost to Jacob Malkoun and Armen Petrosyan last year.

UFC Vegas 78 event is set to take place on August 12, 2023, at UFC Apex Centre in Las Vegas, NV. It is expected to be headlined by a welterweight bout between Vincente Luque and Rafael Dos Anjos.
