According to the latest reports, Kelvin Gastelum vs Nassourdine Imamov will headline the very first UFC event of 2023 that will take place on January 14

La Sueur was the first one to report this match which was later confirmed by MMA Fighting as well.

It is the second time Gastelum has been scheduled to face Imavov. They were also supposed to collide earlier this year in April. However, Imavov faced some visa issues and then Gastelum also dropped off due to injury.

Kelvin Gastelum is on a two-fight losing streak. He lost two back-to-back matches against Jared Cannonier and Robert Whittaker via unanimous decision. His last win came against Ian Heinisch at UFC 258.

On the other hand, Nassourdine Imavov is in red hot form as he is on a three-fight winning streak. After defeating Ian Heinisch and Edmen Shahbazyan via TKO, Imavov defeated Joaquin Buckley via a unanimous decision at UFC Paris

Now, it remains to be seen whether Gastelum gets back on the winning track or if will Imavov extend his winning streak when these middleweights collide in the main event of the January 14 UFC event.
