A new flyweight bout is in the works for the UFC 293 PPV event in Australia.
According to the latest reports, Kai Kara-France will likely square off against Manel Kape inside the octagon at UFC 293 on September 10, 2023.
Brett Okamoto of ESPN was the first one to reveal this matchup which was confirmed by multiple other sources as well. The report also confirmed that both fighters have verbally agreed to this bout and the contracts will be signed very soon.

This will be the chance for Kai Kara-France to break a two-fight losing streak. Kai Kara-France’s three consecutive wins earned him a title shot against Brandon Moreno but he failed to capitalize on it. Then, he lost his most recent match against Amir Albazi on June 3, 2023.
On the other hand, Manel Kape seems to be in good form. He is currently on a three-fight winning streak. Kape is coming off a unanimous decision win against David Dvorak in December 2022.
Now, it will be interesting to see whether Kara-France will be able to return to the winning path by ending Manel Kape’s winning streak or will the latter add another win to his streak.
