Joanne Wood vs Luana Carolina Set for UFC 286 London at 125 Lbs
Joanne Wood(Joanne Calderwood) vs Luana Carolina flyweight bout is reported to be booked for UFC 286 PPV.
Ag.Fight first reported that Scotland’s Wood will take on the card for the PPV event in London, UK, on March 18, 2022. Several other outlets have confirmed the news since then.
Wood had a busy period between August 2020 to March 2022 where he participated in 5 bouts in UFC. However, she only won once during this period against Jessica Eye at UFC 257 in January 2021. She has suffered losses in her last three bouts against Lauren Murphy, Talia Santos and Alexa Grasso.
In fact, Wood has been 4-5 since moving up to flyweight in 2018. She has 1-2 record in strawweight fights and 6-8 record in UFC. In 2022, her only bout came against Alexa Grasso in March 2022.
Luana Carolina also suffered a loss in her most recent bout against Molly McCann at UFC London Fight Night in March 2022. Before that, she has two wins in a row in 2021 against Poliana Botelho and Lupita Godinez.
Prior to that, “Dread” suffered a knee injury that kept her out of the octagon for about a year after her loss to Ariane Lipski. A participant in Dana White Contender Series Brazil, Carolina’s UFC record stands at 3-2 while her overall MMA record stands at 8-3.
