Two Dana White Contender Series 2020 signees Ignacio Bahamondes(13-4) and Nikolas Motta(13-4) will clash at UFC 287 PPV event.
The report comes through ESPN Deportes’ Carlos Legaspi, who reports that the lightweight bout is set for UFC 287. UFC 287 is expected to take place on April 8, 2023, at an undisclosed location.
Ignacio Bahamondes has a 2-1 record in UFC so far. He was signed by UFC by beating Edson Gomez via second-round knockout in DWCS 2020 season. He made his promotional debut with a split decision loss against John Makdessi in April 2021.
Since then, he has had a knockout win over Roosevelt Roberts in August 2021 and a knockout win over Rong Zhu in February 2022. He was booked to face Ľudovít Klein at UFC 277 but had to pull out due to undisclosed reasons.
Despite being signed by UFC in the 2020 DWCS season itself, Nikolas Motta could not make his debut before 2022. His bouts against Damir Hadžović, Cameron VanCamp and Jim Miller were canceled due to various reasons.
Motta finally made his debut against Jim Miller at UFC Vegas 48 in February 2022 where he lost via second-round KO. He later defeated Cameron VanCamp via first-round knockout in September 2022.
UFC 287 event also has Michelle Waterson vs Luana Pinheiro, Rob Font vs Adrian Yanez and Cynthia Calvillo vs Loopy Godinez bouts reported on the card.
