Gillian Robertson vs Tabatha Ricci in Work for UFC Jacksonville
A flyweight bout is work to be added to UFC Jacksonville between Gillian Robertson and Tabatha Ricci.
UFC Jacksonville or Fight Night 227 will be taking place on June 24, 2023, at Vystar Memorials Arena in Jacksonville, FL. The main event was confirmed to be Josh Emmett vs Ilja Topuria featherweight bout on Thursday by UFC President Dana White.
Now, MMA Journalist Meni Mayer is reporting that a bout between Gillian Robertson and Tabatha Ricci might be in the work. It is expected that this bout will be at strawweight where Robertson made her UFC debut last week at UFC Kansas City.
Robertson called out #15 ranked strawweight Ricci as she expressed that she is looking for some ranked opponent and since Ricci fought last month, she might be looking for a new fight.
Robertson defeated Piera Rodriguez via second-round submission last Saturday. That was her second win in a row and her third win in her last 4 bouts. She defeated Mariya Agapova via submission in September 2022 after a unanimous decision loss to JJ Aldrich.
Ricci is on a 3-fights winning streak in the strawweight division after losing in her UFC debut at flyweight. She has wins over Maria Oliveira, Polyana Viana and Jessica Penne in these fights. The win over Penne came at UFC 285 PPV.
