Caleb Plant vs David Benavidez Set for January 2023

Caleb Plant vs David Benavidez

Former IBF Super Middleweight Champion Caleb Plant is set to collide against the interim WBC Super Middleweight Champion David Benavidez next year in January.

Boxing Scene was the first one to report this match, whereas ESPN later confirmed that the bout would take place in January 2023.

Caleb Plant has also confirmed this news by sharing a tweet. The post also revealed that both boxers have signed a contract, and will now collide next year.

Caleb Plant was undefeated as a professional boxer until he met Canelo Alvarez last year in November. Plant lost the bout via 11th-round TKO. Last month, he rebounded from this loss as he defeated Anthony Dirrell via 9th-round KO.

On the other hand, David Benavidez remains undefeated as a professional boxer. He is a former IBF Super Middleweight Champion just like Plant. He became the interim champion in his most recent bout against David Lemieux by defeating via third-round TKO.

Benavidez has already defeated the likes of Anthony Dirrell, David Lemieux, Ronald Ellis, and more. Whereas Caleb Plant has already cemented his legacy as one of the bests of this generation in super middleweight division. The latter also stated that it would be a revenge tour for him.

With both fighters being associated with PBC, the bout is expected to air live on Showtime in US. Keep tuned in for more news and updates around the event.
