WWE SmackDown April 21: Gunther vs Woods, Women’s Tag Title Match Set
Intercontinental Championship and Women’s Tag Team Championship matches are announced for WWE SmackDown April 21, 2023, along with another tag team match.
Intercontinental Champion Gunther will defend the title against Xavier Woods in a singles match. The match was set up after Woods confronted and asked for a title shot before WWE Draft could change his brand. Gunther invited him to the sacred match and have his title shot.
Woods was earlier involved this week on SmackDown to defeat LA Knight. Gunther has crossed 300 days as the Intercontinental Champion, which is the longest reign for the title in 21st century.
Newly crowned Women’s Tag Team Champions Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez are set for their first title defense. They will face Chelsea Green and Sonya Deville on SmackDown April 21 episode. Green and Deville interrupted Morgan and Rodriguez’s championship celebration to set up this match.
The Viking Raiders will continue their rivalry against Braun Strowman and Ricochet with a tag team match. Ricochet defeated Ivar in a singles match last week. The Viking Raiders hit back with a backstage attack on Strowman and Ricochet.
WWE SmackDown episode of April 21, 2023, will air from Schottenstein Center in Columbus, OH. The line-up, for now, is as below:
