Drew McIntyre vs Murphy
Seth Rollins looked like that he has lost his “disciples” after his loss at WrestleMania to Kevin Owens. However, Murphy came out to the aid of Monday Night Messiah when he was in danger against McIntyre last week. It is another matter that McIntyre laid Murphy out but Rollins came out of it without much harm.
Tonight on RAW, Murphy will go one on one against the WWE Champion in a singles match. Rollins will surely be lurking around, waiting to pounce on McIntyre as soon as he gets some chance. But McIntyre has proved to be a tough nut to crack until now. Will Rollins be able to put some cracks in his armor before their showdown at Money in the Bank?
Last Chance Gauntlet Match for Money in the Bank Spot
This year’s Money in the Bank Ladder matches have had a much better build to them than previous years and it is a pleasant change from WWE. Something which is indicating that the company is slowing going towards longer rivalries and build-ups to further matches.
One such long build has come for Apollo Crews, who had to relinquish his spot in the MITB ladder match after an injury (kayfabe) from Andrade. It is expected that Crews will get his title match against Andrade later on and might even dethrone Andrade. But meanwhile, someone needs to replace him for Money in the Bank.
And to determine this, WWE has now booked a “Last Chance” Gauntlet Match on RAW tonight. The participants for the match are not revealed yet. But we can expect the likes of Austin Theory, Angel Garza, maybe Andrade himself, Bobby Lashley and Jinder Mahal to take part. A big rumor going around is for AJ Styles to make a comeback and win this match. Let’s see if that comes out to be true.
The Street Profits vs The Viking Raiders
This match was earlier announced to be a title match. However, now it is changed to into a normal tag team match between the Champions Street Profits and The Viking Raiders. It is expected that The Vikings might get the win here to set up a match at Money in the Bank PPV.
The story here is that The Street Profits have not been able to defeat The Viking Raiders ever previously. Therefore, their tag titles are in jeopardy. Whether Profits be able to turn that around for once and retain their titles?
Ricochet & Cedric Alexander vs Brandon Vink & Shane Thorne
After failing to make advances as single stars, WWE is now trying to get Alexander and Ricochet over as a tag team. They have been picking up wins over jobber teams every week after WrestleMania. This week though, they will go back to face a team that they face two weeks back, with a subtle addition.
Ever since MVP returned to WWE at Royal Rumble earlier this year, he is trying to get into a manager position for anyone. His calls are finally being answered and he will manage Brandon Vink and Shane Thorne now. Whether it is a one-off thing or it is for a long haul, remains to be seen.
What More to Expect?
- Triple Threat Match between Shayna Baszler, Nia Jax and Shayna Baszler never took place last week. It might have been saved for tonight before their Money in the Bank Ladder match showdown.
