Toni Storm vs Jamie Hayter Match Set for AEW Full Gear 2022
The interim AEW Women’s Championship match is set for AEW Full Gear 2022 PPV.
Jamie Hayter will get her first singles PPV match when she challenges Toni Storm for interim AEW Women’s title at the event, AEW has announced.
Interim AEW Women’s Championship was introduced after Thunder Rosa got injured before All Out and pulled out of the event. Storm won the interim title at AEW All Out in a fatal 4-way match which also involved Jamie Hayter, Britt Baker and Hikaru Shida. Storm pinned Baker in that match to get the win.
The rivalry between Storm and the team of Baker and Hayter has continued after that event with some tag team and multi-person matches. Storm teamed up with Hikaru Shida on October 12 episode of Dynamite to defeat Baker and Hayter in a tag team match. The interim match between Toni Storm and Hikaru Shida was made official during this week’s AEW Dynamite.
In the video package following the announcement, Storm revealed that she and Hayter used to be good friends and they even lived in the same house during the COVID-19 pandemic. However, Hayter ignored her when she arrived at AEW. Hayter then replied that her attitude never changed and she had always been nice to Storm. Hayter argued that Storm failed to read her. Storm ended the package by saying that it was clear Hayter was Britt Baker’s friend and not her friend anymore.
This is the fourth match to be made official for AEW Full Gear 2022 PPV which will take place on November 19, 2022, at Prudential Center in Newark, NJ. Jon Moxley defends AEW World Championship against MJF while the Acclaimed will defend AEW Tag Team Championship against Swerve in Our Glory. AEW World Title Eliminator Tournament Final will also take place at the event.
