AEW Full Gear 2022: MJF to Challenge Jon Moxley for World Title

MJF will cash in his Casino Poker Chip against Jon Moxley at AEW Full Gear 2022 event for a match for AEW World Championship.

The match was announced by MJF himself where he revealed that he would want to face Jon Moxley at his 100% and will see him at Full Gear. MJF has been teasing cashing in the Casino Poker chip at an opportune time ever since he won it at All Out PPV earlier this year. However, his attitude changed during AEW Dynamite episode this week.

William Regal came out to the ring for an interview with Tony Schiavone. MJF interrupted him and told a story of how Regal rejected him in WWE NXT due to him just being 19 years old. MJF revealed that Regal asked him to send footage of his matches and promos every month to track his progress. But after the third mail, Regal wrote back that WWE exclusively hires the best in the business, and when MJF is one of them, only then he should send his promo.

A fiery MJF revealed that when he read this email, it made him wanna leave professional wrestling and kill himself. But, MJF realized that all the naysayers would win if does so. MJF then taunted Regal over how he is one of the hottest prospects in the industry and even WWE is after him to sign him in 2024.

William Regal replied that he wrote that mail to light a fire inside MJF seeing how incredible he was. Regal told MJF that MJF has let him down by taking shortcuts, winning matches via his diamond ring, using guys to do his bidding, and laying his hands on other officials. Regal dared MJF to become a bad guy, a devil, then he should make a name for himself by doing it right, by beating everyone standing in front of him.

Later in the night, the match for AEW World Championship between Jon Moxley and Adam Page ended abruptly after Page suffered a concussion. With 10 minutes still left in the show, a bloodied and battered Jon Moxley called out MJF to cash in his chip.

MJF came out with a referee and even teased a cash-in, but left before the bell could ring. MJF then announced that he would do things the right way and for the first time in his life, he will earn this. And therefore, he would cash in the chip at Full Gear.

AEW Full Gear 2022 PPV will take place on November 19, 2022, at Prudential Center in Newark, NJ. This is the first match to be confirmed for the show. Jon Moxley successfully defended AEW World Championship against MJF at AEW All Out 2020 PPV during his first reign.
