Sasha Banks(c) vs Nia Jax – WWE SmackDown Women’s Championship Match
Bianca Belair is arguing with Sasha Banks at the Gorilla Position. Bianca asks why this title match is happening tonight. Sasha mentions that it is due to Reginald. Bianca tells her that Reginald is still in her head and she should get it sorted.
Sasha enters to the ring for the match. Nia Jax enters with Shayna Baszler. We get to see that Reginald is not at SmackDown and was getting beauty treatment. Nia enters the ring. They run their mouth to start. Banks attacks in the corner with double knees and running knees. Sasha with a bulldog now. Nia cuts her off with a back elbow. She drops Sasha in the middle of the ring for a two-count.
Nia with a slam and an elbow drop to get another two-count. Nia hits the Samoan drop but Sasha kicks out. Bianca Belair comes out as her music hits. Sasha rolls to the floor. Bianca reaches her and tries to motivate her as we cut to the commercials.
Sasha hits a few elbows as we return from the back. Nia hits a sideslam to get a two-count. Nia stomps on Sasha’s knee to soften it up. She picks up Sasha and swings her face-first into the turnbuckle. Nia continues to be in control. Sasha goes for the sunset flip and manages to avoid a hip attack.
Sasha hits a meteora to get a two-count. Sasha goes for the Bank Statement. Shayna Baszler and Bianca Beliar gets into the ring. The referee gets distracted by Belair. Shayna goes to kick Sasha but instead catches Nia with a stiff kick. Bianca sends Baszler out and Sasha gets Nia into the jackknife cover to get the pin.
Winner- Sasha Banks(retains SmackDown Women’s title)
After the match, Nia recovers in the ring while Sasha & Bianca celebrate at the ramp. Nia is pissed at Shayna.
Edge is backstage with Kayla Braxton. Edge says SmackDown always feels like home to him with some of the best & worst moments of his career. He feels like Daniel Bryan needs a fair shot at Fastlane, and that why want to be the Special Enforcer. He also says Jey Uso can be one of the greatest talents we have seen, but until he is following in the shadow of Roman Reigns.
After the break, we see Nia pissed at Shayna backstage. Shayna apologizes for the kick. Nia asks her what she will do to get things right. Shayna says she will have a match against Bianca and will smack her.
Seth Rollins’ Warning to Cesaro!
Seth Rollins is in the ring. He says that the locker room came out to listen to him when he returned. He respected their decision when they walked out on him. But Cesaro disrespected him and humiliated him. He says Cesaro is jealous of him because he is a WrestleMania main eventer. We get the recap from last week when Rollins interrupted in Cesaro vs Murphy and hit the Stomp on Cesaro a few times.
Rollins now mocks Cesaro for not being able to get back to his feet. Rollins does some comedy and asks whether Cesaro got tired of running for the brass ring. He gets serious now and Cesaro swung him 22 times, calls him the biggest waste in WWE.
Shinsuke Nakamura’s music hits and he enters. Rollins tells him not to disrespect him. Nakamura gets into the ring and tells him to shut up. Rollins attacks but Nakamura gets the first shot. Rollins runs from the ring but gets back in after some mocking from Nakamura. Nakamura with the leg-sweep and kinshasa on Rollins. Nakamura leaves the ring while Rollins recovers.
The Street Profits vs Rey Mysterio & Dominik Mysterio
This match is for #1 contender for SmackDown Tag Team titles. Ford and Dominik starts the match. Dominik takes down Dominik. They trip each other and more counters. Ford kicks at Dominik’s gut after offering a handshake. Rey gets the blind tag and hits a dropkick. Ford cuts off Rey with a shoulder tackle. Dawkins gets in and hits a splash in the corner. Ford tags in and so does Dominik.
Dawkins decks Rey while Dominik hits a DDT on Ford. Ford hits a side slam and sets up for a double team move with Dawkins. Rey cuts off Ford and takes him to the ringside. Dominik rolls up Dawkins to get the pin. Dawkins is shocked at the loss.
Winner – Rey Mysterio & Dominik Mysterio
After the match, Rey and Dominik celebrate the upset win as the music hits. Otis and Chad Gable come out and confront The Mysterios. Gable goes on about what they’ve recently done to Rey and Dominik. The Mysterios attack Gable and Otis, taking them down with a crossbody. Rey and Dominik stand tall as we go back to commercial.
Rey Mysterio & Dominik Mysterio vs The Alpha Academy(Otis & Chad Gable)
The match is already started as we return from the break. Gable goes for the superplex but Rey hits a meteora after taking him down. Dominik drops Otis from the apron. Rey gets to the top but Otis trips him. Otis tags in and drops Rey. He continues to beat up Rey for a while. Otis gets Rey in a bear hug. Rey kicks at his knee but Otis slams him. Otis misses a headbutt.
Dominik and Gable tag in. Dominik with dropkick, hurricanrana, tornado DDT and Otis had to break the pin. Rey attacks Otis on the floor. Otis sends him into the barricade. Gable cuts off 619 from Dominik. Gable drops Dominik in the ring. Otis hits a splash from the second rope to get the win.
Winners – The Alpha Academy
Bryan & Roman Trade Words
Daniel Bryan comes out. He talks about Edge vs Jey Uso match. He says we all know what will happen at Fastlane if Jey becomes the enforcer. Also, Edge wants to face Roman Reigns at WrestleMania, so he might not be too different. Bryan claims that Edge doesn’t want to face Bryan, and thinks he can beat Reigns. But Bryan knows that he can beat Reigns and he will prove it this Sunday when he makes Reigns tap out, just like he did to Uso.
WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns comes out to the stage with Paul Heyman. Reigns laughs and reminds Bryan that he has never tapped out to anyone and he would rather lose his arm than tap to any man. Roman also says he would rather die in the ring than to tap out to someone like Bryan. Bryan says he’s not just going to make Reigns tap out but he is going to break him of his beliefs and his delusions. Bryan claims he will win the Universal title at Fastlane before starting the “yes!” chant.
Sami Zayn vs King Corbin
Kevin Owens is on the commentary for the match. Sami starts with a kick. Corbin slams in the corner but the referee separates him. Sami with more shots. Corbin runs him down. Sami rakes his eyes using the referee and Corbin misses the tackle in the corner. Sami covers but could only get two. Sami gets into argument with the referee. He goes to uncover the turnbuckle but the referee stops him. Corbin hits the End of Days to get the pin.
Winner – King Corbin
After the match, Corbin leaves. Sami goes to KO at the commentary and asks him whether he saw the conspiracy. KO says he just lost and should take it in the stride. KO goes to talk to the commentator when Sami runs him down with the Helluva kick. Sami continues to shout at KO while his commentary crew films him.
Big E & Apollo Crews interview with Michael Cole
Michael Cole has Big E & Apollo Crews before their match at Faslane. Things turnes heated up and Big E leaves the interview and goes looking for Apollo now. He gets in a Golf cart and is searching backstage. Big E finds him and Apollo tries to avoid him. Big E grabs him and crashes him into the equipments backstage. Big E thrashes Apollo with trash can and other things that he could find. He sends Apollo through a barricade as the segment comes to an end.
Shayna Baszler vs Bianca Belair
Bianca starts with a shoulder tackle as Sasha leaves her on her own. Baszler throws Bianca out of the ring. Bianca lands near Nia Jax. Nia also leaves the ringside after giving some bad looks to Bianca and Baszler. The match continues until Natalya & Tamina Snuka attack. They crash Baszler into the announce table. Bianca is beaten up in the ring.
Result- Double DQ
Edge vs Jey Uso – Winner becomes special enforcer at WWE Fastlane
Daniel Bryan is on the commentary for the match. They lock up and Edge trasitions it into a pin attempt. Edge hits a shoulder tackle and goes to put Jey in a crossface but Jey was quick to avoid it. Edge with a couple of punches and knee strikes. He uses the ropes to hurt Uso’s arms. Jey hits an elbow to his ribs and Edge moves out of the ring. Jey sends him into the announce table and the steel steps. Jey hits a suicide dive which sends Edge into the announce table. We cut to the commercial break.
Jey stomps on Edge a few times as we return. Edge tries to come back but Jey puts him back down with a big strike. Edge gets dropped on the ropes and sent to the floor. Edge is selling an injury to ribs as they return to the ring. Jey sends him ribs-first into the ringpost and stretches him against the post until referee forces him to break. Edge tries to comeback but his ribs gives out. Edge avoids a splash and takes down Jey with a crossbody. Both men get back to the feet and Edge hits a big boot. He hits a knee from the top turnbuckle to get a two-count.
Jey goes to the top and Edge takes him down with a hurricanrana. Edge blocks a superkick and hits a DDT. Jey blocks the spear with a superkick. Jey hits the splash from the top but his injured shoulder does not allow him to roll Edge in time to get the pin. Edge gets up, drives Jey’s shoulder into the mat and hits the spear to get the win.
Winner – Edge
After the match, Edge stands tall in the ring as he is confirmed as the special enforcer. Roman Reigns takes out Edge out of nowhere. Reigns talks some trash before he challenges Bryan to come in. Bryan gets up and walks towards the ring. But Jey Uso attacks him before he can get into the ring. Bryan is thrown into the ring and Roman takes him out with a Spear. Reigns stands tall and raises the Universal Title in the air as the Thunderdome crowd boos him.
