WWE is planning a big WrestleMania rematch at WrestleMania 38, as per recent reports.

Roman Reigns and Brock Lesnar are feuding since Lesnar returned to WWE at SummerSlam 2021. They had a singles match at Crown Jewel PPV earlier this year for the Universal Championship and a rematch is now booked for WWE Day 1 PPV on January 1, 2022. But it is likely that their feud will continue further.

Roman Reigns vs Brock Lesnar WrestleMania 38 Rematch

Dave Meltzer wrote in Wrestling Observer Newsletter that the finish to the Head of the Table vs the Beast Incarnate match is designed so that it would leave fans “wanting a rematch.” And the rematch will ultimately take place at the main event of WrestleMania 38.

Earlier, it was reported that the match between the company’s two biggest names was set up since they wanted to set up Day 1 as a big event. However, it seems there is much more planning at work in regard to the match.

Brock and Roman have faced each other in WrestleMania main event twice until this point. The first instance was at WrestleMania 31 when Brock defended his WWE Championship against the Royal Rumble Winner Reigns. Seth Rollins cashed in his Money in the Bank briefcase to pull off the Heist of the Century and win the WWE title.

The second match was at WrestleMania 34 when Lesnar was the Universal Champion and Roman became the #1 contender by winning the Elimination Chamber match. Brock won this match in what was reported as a last-minute creative change. Check here for the complete Roman Reigns vs Brock Lesnar rivalry.

Currently, it is not noted whether either Roman or Lesnar will win the men’s Royal Rumble match to set up the match at WrestleMania 38.

The event will air from AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas on April 2 and 3, 2022. Check here for the tickets for the event.
