WWE SummerSlam 2021: Roman Reigns Defeats John Cena, Brock Lesnar Returns
WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns defeated John Cena in the main event of SummerSlam 2021. After the match, Brock Lesnar made his return and confronted the Head of the Table.
The main event between Roman Reigns and John Cena was certainly the most-anticipated bout of the biggest party of the summer. Both of them have been delivering amazing promos week after week to build up their feud.
Initially in the match, John Cena only tried to catch Roman Reigns with quick pins and attempted to tire out Roman. However, after failing terribly and getting dominated by the Tribal Chief, Cena had to make his comeback in the match.
As the fight continued back and forth in the middle part, Cena delivered a total of 3 Attitude Adjustments to Roman Reigns including the one on the announce table and one from the second rope. In the ending moments of the match, John Cena and Roman Reigns traded several strikes but Reigns hit Cena with two back-to-back superman punches. After that, he roared “I am WWE” and connected the spear to get the pinfall.
Although the most shocking moment of SummerSlam 2021 was about to come next. Just like John Cena made his return at Money in the Bank after the main event match, Roman got another challenger in front of him after dispatching Cena.
The crowd roared as Brock Lesnar’s entrance music hits and the Beast Incarnate made his long-awaited return to WWE.
Brock Lesnar came out in a new look to confront the Head of the Table. Roman Reigns was shocked to see Brock Lesnar and decided to leave the ring quietly. The look on Paul Heyman’s face was revealing that he was the most shocked person in the arena over the Beast Incarnate’s comeback. Heyman earlier used to be the advocate for Brock Lesnar but now he is currently working as the special counsel for the Universal Champion Roman Reigns.
When will Brock Lesnar challenge for Roman Reigns’s title? The newly announced Crown Jewel event in Saudi Arabia can be thought of as the event that WWE might have in mind for the showdown.
