Rob Van Dam Arrives to AEW Dynamite, Bout vs Jack Perry Set on August 9
Rob Van Dam made an appearance at AEW Dynamite this week and has set up a match against Jack Perry on August 9, 2023, episode of AEW Dynamite.
During the August 2 episode of AEW Dynamite, Jerry Lynn was set to come face-to-face with Perry. During the episode, Lynn mentioned that while he could never be cleared again to wrestle, he has one friend from ECW who could take on Perry. Unexpectedly, the arena erupted with surprise as Rob Van Dam’s music hit.
After Van Dam entered the ring, Perry retreated. Perry then re-entered the ring with a chair but he was chased out again.

During the backstage segment, RVD challenges Perry for the FTW title match next week on Dynamite. He also claimed that he plans on retiring the title after winning it. Later on, the bout was made official by AEW at the August 9 episode of AEW Dynamite.
The August 9 episode of AEW Dynamite will be live from Nationwide Arena, Columbus, OH, US. This is the only match confirmed for the show so far.
Jack Perry won the FTW championship by defeating Hook in the July 19 episode of AEW Dynamite, the upcoming bout against RVD will mark Perry’s first title defense.
A legend from ECW, WWE and TNA Wrestling, RVD has wrestled just twice this year. his recent match was in April at IWC Superstar Showdown IV, where he defeated Channing Decker in a one-on-one match.
